9. Kambodscha: Happy New Year

Liebe Familie, liebe Freunde! Ich hoffe ihr seid unterdessen alle gut ins neue Jahr gestartet. Ich wünsch euch auf alle Fälle von Herzen ein friedliches 2014, mit vielen positiven Überraschungen, speziellen Momenten und einfach Gottes reichen Segen.

Ich habe soeben gemerkt, dass ich nun bereits 2 Wochen hier in Kambodscha bin. Ja, die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug. So viel ist schon wieder passiert in der Zwischenzeit. Ich erlebte eine gemütliche Weihnachtsfeier in Simi's schweizer Hauskreis (wo ich nicht nur Simi kannte, ja die Welt ist klein smile*), Spielabende bei Simi's Freunden, vier gemütliche Tage in Kampot und eine Neurjahrsfeier auf dem Mekong. Zudem sind viele Momente ausgefüllt mit Staunen über das so andere Leben hier, oft raubt dies meine ganze Aufmerksamkeit *smile*. Ja, verschiedene Wege führen nach Rom und es tut gut zu merken, dass meine Vorstellungen und mein Denken nicht die einzig richtigen sind.

Noch im alten Jahr habe ich Simi gefragt, ob es für ihn ok wäre, wenn ich etwas länger hier bleiben würde. Ich merkte, wie ich keine Lust darauf hatte, schon bald wieder meine 7 Sachen packen zu müssen. Zudem fühl ich mich hier auch einfach wohl, schon fast ein bisschen zuhause *smile*.

Ja und dann habe ich ja seit Kurzem auch wieder eine Beschäftigung *smile*. Ein Freund von Simi, bei dem wir kürzlich zum Siedler spielen waren, ist Künstler. Noch in diesem Monat hat er eine Ausstellung geplant und ist mit den Arbeiten ein wenig im Rückstand. So greiffe ich ihm ein wenig unter die Arme und unterstütze ich wo ich nur kann. Es ist super spannend und macht riesen Spass. Ja, so bin ich weiterhin unterwegs und täglich von Neuem gespannt darauf, was der Tag wohl bringen wird.

I've just realized, that I'm already in Cambodia since two weeks. Yes, time flies. So many things already happened since I'm here. We had a great Christmas party with the small group of Simon. It was funny, especially because he wasn't the only person I knew. Yes, what a small world. As well we had some invitations of Simon's friends, where we went for dinner and played games. I also had the chance to spend some very realxing days in Kampot and New Year we celebrated on a boat on the Mekong. Lot of moments are filled too with stunning about the great culture here. It often takes a lot of my attention. But it's just great to realise, that there are so many different ways in doing things, and Debby's way is not the only right one.

It was still the year 2013 when I've asked Simi, if I could stay at his place a little longer. I feel very comfortable here, really like it and don't want to pack all my belongings pretty soon again.

Yes, and since a few days, I'm having a "job" again. A friend of Simon, who I met the other day for playing games, is an artist. Soon he'll have an exhibition and is way behind with his pieces, so he asked me, if I could help him. For sure I took this opportunity. It's so great, I love the work in his studio and it's very interesting to learn the way he works.

So I'm still on the way, and daily looking forward to whatever God has ready for me.
