I had a few hours between Manila and Kuala Lumpur (with a stopover in Singapore) to recall the last three months. I was just thankful that I had the chance to experience such an awesome time.
In Kuala Lumpur Shonna came and picked me up at the airport together with her dad. Just a few minutes after I could stun about the skyline of KL, which looked to me like out of a fairytale. It was so amazing.
I know Shonna from the time on the Doulos. It was very spontaneous that I stopped four days in KL. I thought that she would be in New Zealand during this time of the year, where she studies and lives. But because of Christmas, she was home with her family. When she wrote me that, I didn't hesitate and planned to stop in KL for a few days. This is how it turned out, that I had once more a great tour guide. I enjoyed exploring the city with her, go and eat at very hidden places, experience a different hair removal *smile* and have a walk on her backyard mountain, where monkeys play in the treetops. As well I loved to go to the local market. To soak in all the different colors, the smells and the variety of products is always a big adventure for me. What was very special and fun too, was just to sit together with Shonna and her family and eat by hand. I loved it *smile*.
But the biggest gift for me, was just the fact, that I could see Shonna again. It was so great to catch up. Also it was a huge pleasure to get to know her parents, who were very hospitable. I've enjoyed the interesting conversations with them a lot.
