Last Saturday,
Lea, Ramona and I, three Swiss Ladies, started a road trip. We’ve chosen the
route very spontaneously; we’ve just followed the nice weather, which first
lead us to Lakes Entrance. It felt like summer down there. The sunbeams were
warm and lots of people were hanging at the beach or strolling through the
cute little town. Six years ago I was here already, and some things I vaguely remembered.
On Sunday morning I visited a small church, we were just 12 people. It reminded me of home and I was touched by the warm welcome from the church members. I could barely hold back the tears, when a man with trisomy 21, served me a cuppa after the service.

After two relaxed days we continued our trip towards the southwest,
along the 90 mile beach, which was breathtaking, once we got over the dune
*smile*. I’m pretty sure I won’t forget our picnic sessions, the fresh homemade
bread, the haunted village, the kangaroo nearly jumping into our car and our
conversations in Swiss German *smile*.
After a short, "I don’t want to move anymore intervention", of Lea’s
car (maybe it's not so clever to water a key *smile*), we continued our trip to Wilsons Prom, a National Park. Lea wanted to show
Ramona and me one of her favorite tracks. She actually mentioned that it was
one of the nicest walks she ever did. And indeed, it is an incredible beautiful
spot of land. Besides a koala we saw Australia’s entire famous wildlife. I
felt like I was on a safari. One highlight followed the other. It really was
breathtaking. Fortunately the big spider was outside our cabin *smile*. The bay,
just a short walk away, behind our wooden hut, was indeed surfer’s paradise.
While we watched Lea catching the waves (just hardcore surfers go into these ice cold waters), we saw the wales having fun in the background,
the kitschy blue ocean. Lea really didn’t over-exaggerate. This place changed
my opinion about Australia. I’ve realized how little I have seen so far of this
huge continent and how much more this country has to offer.
Only because of Lea and AC I decided to come back to Australia, not because I wanted to see more of the country. Lea helped me to open my eyes. Many thanks for these great moments and the amazing days I could spend with you and Ramona in paradise. An experience I probably won’t forget.
