7. Philippines: Savanne(a) *smile*

Vor einigen Wochen wurde ich gefragt, ob ich nicht Lust darauf haette, das Kinderzimmer der kleinen Jungs zu malen. Natuerlich sagte ich zu, auch wenn ich dies noch nie zuvor gemacht habe (aber wozu hat man einen Cousin der Maler war, danke Flo fuer deine Tipps) und ich wusste, dass dies eine Menge Arbeit bedeuten wuerde. So investierte ich die letzten paar Wochen beinahe taeglich ein paar Stunden in dieses Projekt, genoss es jedoch sehr, fuer so was Tolles einfach Zeit zu haben. Die Jungs durften waehlen, was ich malen sollte und schnell war klar, dass eine Savanne hin soll. Jeder der Boys durfte sich persoenlich ein Tier aussuchen, welches ich neben sein Bett malen wuerde. In mein Skizzenbuch entwarf ich einen Grobplan und dann ging es Schritt um Schritt ans Werk. Etwas muehsam war das taegliche Einrichten des Arbeitsplatzes, welcher am Abend fuer die Jungs vor dem Schlafengehen immer wieder aufgeraeumt sein musste. Aber die vielen Komplimente der Jungs und die strahlenden Augen entschaedigten fuer jede einzelne Sekunde. Ich hoffe, dass sie ihre Savanna noch lange geniessen werden *smile*.

A few weeks ago I got asked, if I like to paint the little boys room. Of course I confirmed, even though I never did something like this before. But thanks God I'm having a cousin who used to be a painter. He could give me important advices *smile*. Thanks Florian! I knew, this would be a huge project and it would take me weeks.
And I really worked the last few weeks nearly daily a few hours at this project. But I really enjoyed doing it. The boys could decide what I should paint. They wanted me to do a savanna, with lots of wild animals. Every boy could chose one personal animal, which I would paint next to their beds. In my sketch book I made a plan and than I started step by step restoring the whole room. It was a lot of work to prepare the working place every day again. As well in the evening I had to clean up every thing again, because the boys had to be able to sleep in their beds. But all the compliments of the boys and the sparkling eyes compensate for every single second of my effort. Now I hope they will enjoy their savanna to the full *smile*.

The first thing I had to do is fill all the wholes.

After I've painted the ceiling, I started the grounding of the wall.

They wanted me to choose a light color, so that the room won't be so dark anymore.

To tape all the different parts was very time consuming.

Than after a lots of days I was finally ready to start with the real job.

Finally after I don't know how many hours. The final work!

Wil die chine Buebe oft chli ueberstellig sind, han ich d"Wandmolerei chli ruhig woelle gstallte.
The small boys are often a little hyper. Therefore I wanted to do the painting in a quiet stile.

For this leopard I used around 8 hours.

While painting I thought about how awesome this special animal is.

Unfortunately after many hours of painting, the projector didn't work anymore.

Wenn ich laenger do waer, het ich no me Zit gha fuer so chlini Details *smile*.
If I was here even longer, I'm could have done even more little details.
